How can I access Wi-Fi on my laptop?

Step 1: Connect to the UKZN Wi-Fi (UKZNDATA/UKZNDATA-XIQ)

Step 2: Go to the internet and type http://vpn2.ukzn.ac.za

Step 3: Login using your UKZN LAN Login Credentials, i.e. your student number (Do not add @stu.ukzn.ac.za). Type your LAN Password. Click Log In.

Step 4: To download select the correct version/platform. Once download is complete click the installation file to install.

Step 5: Accept all the defaults and click “Next”

Step 6: Click ‘Close’ and the installation is complete.

Step 7. Enter the Portal Address: “vpn2.ukzn.ac.za” and click “connect"

Step 8. You will be prompted to authenticate using our UKZN LAN Credentials. Enter your UKZN LAN username and password and select ‘'Sign In”

Please note that VPN/GlobalProtect only works when you are within campus to access the wifi/internet, you cannot use it from home.
